About
Ember Regis is a strategic partnership between two Birmingham-based companies – Ember Television and Regis Media – and we work with clients across the UK and beyond. As well as making both television and online films, we offer consultancy and training about to how best to work with the media, and advising organisations how to make their own content. We have a number of broadcast clients including Sky News, Sky Sports and the BBC. We are also pioneers in the rapidly expanding field of web TV, providing online content for scores of clients, ranging from The Independent to the University of Warwick, Siemens, Investment Week, the European Commission and the Royal Shakespeare Company.
The team is led by Robin Powell, who has had a long and distinguished career in both regional and network television, including 14 years with ITV. He’s reported from all over the world and regularly works for Sky News and the Politics Show on BBC1. He’s also made award-winning documentaries.
Catherine Allen joined the team in June 2010 after graduating with a first class degree from the University of Warwick, and running her own production company based in Coventry. She is now the Managing Director of Ember Television.
Ember Regis Limited was established in 2006, as a result of a merger between two established media companies – Ember Productions and Regis Media.
Here’s what Charles Hunter, Head of Blakeway North, says about Robin and his colleagues:
“Robin Powell’s team have proved to be a mainstay of the BBC Politics Show for the East Midlands over the last four years. Robin’s reports feature throughout the series – researched, written and produced with clarity and imagination.”
This is the view of Jimmy Leach, Head of Digital Engagement at the Foreign Office:
“Innovators in video content such as they are, Ember Regis have been invaluable in helping us to create engaging, bespoke content. They are experienced enough to know how to produce professional content of the highest order, but agile enough to do so with sometimes complex multi-partner deals.”
And after a recent media training course we ran for George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust, Associate Medical Director Gary Lawrence said this:
“Can I just say that I felt that the day overall was fantastic – no doubt a valuable use of my time. The team were highly professional and gave us some great insight. I would certainly recommend them.”
